Welcome to my (other) blog. You will find many links from free art tutorials ,art instruction, tips and links. And if I am brave enough some of my own art work. My companion blog G.R.I.T.S. Journey of Southern Ladies will not be posting art blogs. (Well, maybe a few.) I do review these blogs and web sites before I post. But please , check them out before your child uses them. (Some of them do include nude drawings ) I am also including some sites that show works that I like. And will include all sorts of goodies. Hope you enjoy and may your own artwork be joyful and done for the glory of God !

Photo study for a painting.

I took this country photo this summer.... somewhere near Myrtle Beach. We were on our way to a family reunion. Thought it would be fun to paint this in either oil or watercolor...or maybe even both!!!!

Penguins !!!!

This was a fun little oil that I did for My grandson. If I had it to do over again , I think I would put a thin outline around the penguins using the dark blue. It would make them stand out more.

One of my "Doctor's Office " doodles "

Having to wait in a waiting room can be pretty boring. It is hard to read because you are nervous. I have started taking my sketchbook and pens with me....and just doodle while I wait !!!

Actually more than one.....

A Goodwill "Goodie"

I think I paid about three dollars for this small oil painting. It is sad to see others' artistic efforts being given away like this. I love the colors in this painting.

Young Girl with Flowers

I found this painting at a thrift store. ( oil on particle board. ) This painting is unsigned and when I brought it, there was a layer of dirt and grime. There is something appealing and innocent looking about this young girl. She seems to be shyly hiding behind her bouquet of flowers.

I really enjoy this artist. Especially the bright , bold colors that he uses and the way he fills his art with that color. He shares what he learns and is willing to continue that learning process even though he already a very gifted artist. Check out his blog.

Porgy & Bess "Summertime"

___________________________________________________________

This beautiful aria from Porgy and Bess is one of the most beautiful renditions of the song Summertime. It just gives me "goose bumps". Here in our area of the south, soybeans are getting tall and acres and acres of cotton are starting to bloom. Farmers are pleased so far with the way their crops are growing.

It is interesting to note that one farmer brought in six semi truck loads of bee hives to place through out his cotton fields. The honey bee which is so essential for pollinating crops and plants are dying out in this area.

( David is my farm information source. Every day he gets together with all the local "boys" and has coffee and catches up on the latest farming news. )
